Philip Ryken, President of Wheaton College, Wheaton, IL

Philip Ryken is the eighth president of Wheaton College. Following his graduation from Wheaton North High School in 1984 and Wheaton College in 1988, Dr. Ryken earned advanced degrees from Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia and from the University of Oxford in England. He preached at Philadelphia’s Tenth Presbyterian Church from 1995 until his appointment at Wheaton College in 2010.

President Ryken has published more than 50 Bible commentaries and other books including When Trouble Comes and Beauty Is Your Destiny. He has served as a board member for The Gospel Coalition, the National Association of Evangelicals, the Lausanne Movement, and the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities. He and his wife Lisa have five children, including two Wheaton students and three Wheaton alumni, as well as two granddaughters.
